On February 4 at the Emirates Stadium, match official Anthony Taylor issued a total of one red and seven yellow cards. Arsenal players received six of those yellow cards, and the team will now probably face a fine of around £25,000 for their lack of discipline.

Three of Arsenal’s four starting defenders were booked by Anthony Taylor for different offenses throughout the historic match. Ben White, William Saliba, and Gabriel Magalhaes were a few of them.

In the second half, Jakub Kiwior—who had come in for full-back Oleksandr Zinchenko—was given a yellow card. Declan Rice and Kai Havertz were among the forwards that the referee had also booked.

Darwin Nunez, a player for Liverpool, was given a yellow card, while Ibrahima Konate was sent off in the 88th minute after his second booking of the evening.

The manager of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, said that referee Taylor’s rulings lacked some consistency.

“I was given a red card by this referee against Man City because of the wrestling match between Bernardo Silva and Mo Salah. The same thing happened to [Diogo] Jota today, but he wasn’t given a red card, Klopp said after the game.

Six of Chelsea’s players received bookings during a match this season, resulting in fines for both teams.

Christmas Eve, the Blues and the Wolves got into a heated game, and the Blues got the penalty. However, eight Reds players were booked during a match against Tottenham Hotspur in October of last year.

Even with five bookings, the Spurs just avoided the punishment.

Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, did not receive any discipline on the day of the match despite breaking the Technical Area Code of Conduct.

All coaches are required by the code to stay in their technical area until the end of the game. The purpose of the regulation was to regulate wild parties held during the games.

But when Leandro Trossard clinched the win for Arsenal, Arteta stormed off the field, despite Taylor not booking him for the offense.

The next time we see Arteta’s team in action is this weekend in the Premier League against West Ham.
